About Us

A love for children and a passion for travel inspired Shelley Matheny, CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), to found KidsAlong in 1995. With over 20 years of experience in the incentive travel industry, and as a mother and corporate traveler herself, she knows first-hand the importance—and challenges—of balancing work and family.

KidsAlong offers that balance to families by creating educational, action-packed children’s programs for incentive meetings and special events, and an option for families to bring their kids along when traveling for business. Since its inception, KidsAlong has developed over 1,000 kids programs for countless companies, organizations and events.

From Hawaii to Puerto Rico, Europe to Asia, KidsAlong and its incredible staff have provided families with unique and unforgettable experiences around the globe. When she’s not planning kids’ events, Shelley is a consultant to the world’s top companies and five-star resorts.  She also speaks at conferences worldwide about the benefits of including children in corporate events.

Shelley is featured in the book, Career Ideas for Kids Who Love Travel, and in numerous trade magazines.  She was also the recipient of Sam Walton’s Emerging Entrepreneurs in 2008, as part of Make Mine a Million Business Program.  Matheny strikes her own balance between work and family at home in Marin County, California, with her husband and their four children.
